What Is Our Mission?
We Work to Understand Your Kids Needs
Our mission is to introduce children to new ideas and challenges, allowing creativity and self expression. We try to address each child’s individual interests through a wide variety of activities and play, appropriate to their developmental needs, in a loving and nurturing environment.
We also strive to create a sense of “family” or “belonging” for children, parents and our early childhood educators (staff) alike.

What gives our centre the quality you feel the moment you enter are the “pillars” of belief that supports us. There are four core beliefs on which everything centers at our centre.

Experiential Learning
We help children connect with their surroundings in new ways, so they discover what is meaningful to them in the moment and in the future.
-
Community
A child’s success in large part depends on families, educators, peers and relevant members of the community.
-
Collaboration
Sharing new experiences and solving problems with others leads to a greater sense of connectedness – as well as meaningful learning experiences.
-
Play-Based Learning
We believe all that a child needs to learn can be taught through play! Our staff create activities that are fun and educational.

Navneet Kaur
Director
I’m thrilled to welcome you to KITP, where my dedication to childhood education comes to life. I am a graduate of Grant MacEwan University’s Early Learning and Child Care program. I’m proudly serving as the director at KITP since April 2022, with over five years of dedicated experience in the childcare field. Working with children is my passion as I’m fascinated by their unique shine and their ability to extract meaning from every experience.
Committed to the Emergent Curriculum Approach, I strongly advocate for children’s learning through play, fostering an environment where their potential is not only recognized but also nurtured and celebrated.
I practice pedagogical documentation, as it allows me to see my own image of the child, how I represent the children I work with, how I represent myself, my educator partners and my own learning within the community and the families we serve.

Panthers- Out of School Care
I realized early in life that I love working with children and that there wasn’t anything else I could imagine doing. After graduating high school I then chose to pursue a Diploma as a Child Development Supervisor. I graduated college with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I am very grateful to be a member of Kidz in the Park, so I can be a part of molding a good foundation in children’s lives. To add to my joy (and parenting experience), I have two children, who are the light of my life.

Dianne Johnstun
Ladybugs - Pre-School
I have been working in childcare for over 10 years, and possess a level 1 certificate in child care. I really enjoy the energy young children bring into your life; keeping you constantly on your toes and making you stay creative. I can’t imagine anything better than being able to provide children with a safe and exciting beginning; and I plan on doing it for quite some time. I have two boys of my own and enjoy helping out with my son’s football league.

Margie Grant

I am the daycare cook. I do have my level 1 child care certificate. I have lived in Sherwood Park for 17 years. Since moving here my family has been involved in competitive swimming as all three of my children swim. My hobbies are reading and gardening. I enjoy camping and watching sports. I look forward to getting to know all the kids.
